Scandinavian Sci-Fi, Game & Film Convention

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Last Sunday I went to the Scandinavia Sci-Fi, Game & Film Convention in Malmoe with Maia. I took some crappy pictures since I just felt so lame taking pictures there, especially of the old celebrities :P.  The famous guests were Robert Englund (aka Freddy Krueger), Michael Biehn (Terminator, Planet Terror) who by the way looked like an old junkie that day, Charlie Bewley (Demetri from the Twilight Saga), Andrew Sachs (Manuel in Fawlty Towers) who is like 80 years old, Ruggero Deodato (director) and Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett from Star Wars) I bet no one even recognized him!

It was my first time there and I thought it was quite small, poor and extremely expensive variety off collectibles, mostly Star Wars, Twilight and Marvel. It was a bit disappointing. I saw a few dolls that I could have taken with me home though, like Chucky or a Living Dead Doll. An autograph from one of the D-celebrities was 200SEK! Unbelievable! But I had fun anyway since I was there with Maia! If I ever go to a sci-fi, game & film convention again, it will be to an even bigger one in a bigger city!

Take a look at a few more of  the pictures after the jump (or take a look at Rei’s pictures here)…

Another try!

After my first attempt making a new theme I decided to start over. This one turned out cute (with an illustration from michelleness) as well but not as childish as the other one. However, I can really feel that I’ve been away from coding and designing for too long! WordPress has developed a lot since I made my last theme. I think it will take some time for me to catch up! But, I have really enjoyed experimenting with codes again. I love the process more than the final results. Perhaps that’s why I’m never really satisfied with anything…

Threadless Tees Flowers In The Attic Use Your Brain

Threadless turned 10 years and they celebrated with having a sale on their tshirts! $10 each! So I finally decided to buy a couple I’ve been looking at for quite some time, there are so many awesome prints! I chose Flowers in the Attic and Use Your Brain. I can’t wait until they arrive!

Billy The Tree

Billy The Tree (love the name!) offers a wide range of jewelry, from copper bracelets and charms to earrings, toe rings and watches. They offer a satisfaction guarantee and free global shipping on all their jewelry which is great.

I’ve been looking around their site for a while and they have some pretty cute jewelry and decent prices.! I really liked the handmade copper bracelets that has inlaid gems. I was also  surprised to see that they had piercing jewelry as well, with 55% off everything in that category! So that’s really a great opportunity to get some cheap nose studs for example.

Designing for a 12-year old?

Infektia WordPress theme
Let me tell you a secret. The image above shows my latest design (it’s not complete though) *shivers* for Infektia. At first I thought it was so lovely and cute. I even used brown colors! But then I suddenly realized that woah, doesn’t it look a little bit childish? I think I’ve designed a WordPress theme for my inner 12-year old. I mean, I like cute stuff and cute layouts, but this seems a bit too much in the wrong direction. Disney-ish sort of.

I think I’ll have to start over ;). Perhaps go for a minimalistic and modern toutch.  But I’ve had fun experimenting with it. I tend to do that a lot, sometimes I never even finish it, and start over, and over, and over. That and the lack of inspiration is the reason that I haven’t made a WordPress theme in ages.

Nerdy tshirts

I’m a huge fan of funny tshirts! And if you are a nerd like me, I bet you love them as well! I follow the tv show The Big Bang Theory and I just can’t help noticing all of Sheldon’s cool tshirts!

I’ve been browsing through Nerdyshirts.com and I have found a few I really would likte to own. For example;

- Duke Nukem Funny T Shirt – I still remember playing this game when I was yong on my parents old computer, it was groovy back then!
- Since I watched Adventureland yesterday, and thought it was awesome, I would likte to wear the Adventureland Games shirt.
- Last but not least, the Lolcats shirt, the Lolcats-era will not be forgotten!

You will find more nerdy and retro shirts in their shop, as well as other accessories, hoodies, watches and belt buckles. The prices on the tshirts are at $19.97 and they ship internationally!

You are all welcome to send me a tshirt or two! I’ll send you a digital hug in return! :P
