Don’t go to the circus!

By Malin, August 14, 2007 16:47

CircusNow there are flyer’s everywhere about the upcoming circus that’s coming to town at the end of the month. In the last few years I have been actively boycotting the circuses. Those with animals. Think about those elephants, camels and the rest of the animals that are trapped inside small cages that they have to travel mile after mile in. It makes me sad when I think about it.

I tell everyone I know that they and their kids shouldn’t go to circuses that features live animal acts. I would rather want them to go to a well maintained zoo or wild animal reserve, where they actively care for the animals and their future.

What are your views on circuses?

i work in a circus and i will tell you from first hand experiance, especially in ringling brothers, the animals get better treatment than the performers. We will be tortured to stretch and get paid stupid wages to perform grueling hours and put in more grueling hours of hard work. We love our animals and take very good care of them. Im so sick of all you people saying this shit. Go join a circus and then say the same stuff. You have no idea how hard it is.

I too am familiar with Circuses and have been around them for a long time, the animals are generally not mistreated and instances that show otherwise are far and few between…The Circus will stop having performing animals when no one wants to see animals perform any longer, and that will just never happen… Why don’t you spend a little energy on the ethical treatment of humans! Also people shouldn’t have this much of an opinion on things things they aren’t aware of firsthand.
