How to update your Snap Shot
For a long time I have been bothered about that all these snapshots (preview images) of my blogs and web sites always became out of date (this service is known as Snap Shots). Well, this usually occurs when you update your design, and I tend to do that often. And I have had no idea what to do with it.
Since I’m sometimes pretty slow and stupid, I just found out today! By accident!
I was over at my Technorati account to add my Twitter feed to it. Then the magic happened! :P
Serious newbie tutorial below!

I was looking at one of my sites Technorati page and hovered the tiny text below it’s screen shot (”view larger thumbnail”). A little box showed up and I clicked the little round star thingie in the upper right corner (click the image above to make it bigger) and clicked on “Options” in the little menu that appeared.

Then the little box will show some options that you can change. But I just clicked the circle of green arrows at the bottom (”Refresh This Preview” - bigger image) and then it says that it has been added to the queue. However, my screen shot changed right away and the change also worked on other sites that are using their (Snap) service.
I also found another way to change it, and I wonder why I didn’t think of that from the beginning. You can head over to Snap Shots FAQ page and scroll down to number/question 14 and change it there.
Deadly simple!

Snap shots are a very useful tool which give readers a preview of where a link will take them.
I think its important that they’re updated regularly, to maintain their worth! If they weren’t trusted, then they wouldn’t be any good!
