I need to fly away

Fly away on a vacationLiterally. Just away. I have been looking at some cheap flights to warm and sunny destinations all morning. It would be nice to escape to Napoli or Athens for a few weeks. Hell, a month would be awesome. I just don’t want to go back to Spain and Benidorm, since I have been there two times already. Perhaps another part of Spain.

My real issue is to find pet friendly hotels in those cities. Cause I just can’t leave my dear puppy behind. And of course, I need to check all the legal stuff that applies to taking pets abroad. That alone would be a huge project.

I also would like to visit New York. But the tickets are quite expensive and I guess the city itself is expensive too. Ah, and my dream vacation would definetly be Japan. But that’s in my dreams, I don’t even have a fraction of the cash I need to even get to that part of the world.

And even if I could travel somewhere, do I dare to do it alone? Have you ever traveled alone?

I think traveling alone sounds nice, no pressure and just time for yourself. Might be more relaxing…I’ve started to think about traveling myself but that’s just daydreaming…

i’d personally wouldn’t take my dog (esp. if it’s a pup) on a long flight like that… when customs is involved the dog cage is sealed and you can’t let it out or refill water/food.

and if i don’t misremember a couple of dogs that were going with their masters to the world dog show in mexico in ‘07 was dead on arrival from europe…

so, as long it’s domestic or that i can take the car i’ll go ;P

Only the first step is tough. Been to over 27 countries, just backpacking. Okay, I was with my guy for these.

But I went to China alone several times between the age of 16 and 20, and worked in HK right after high school. And moved to Canada.

    I’m French… those places aren’t exactly next door. ;-)

Just getting in the plane is scary, just don’t think too much and you’ll be fine. Plenty of people travel by themselves… you’ll meet a lot of them. ;-)

I’ve traveled alone just a few times before. Generally, I would rather have a companion, but when I went to WoodStock ‘94, I went alone by train and had a bunch of new friends by time I got there.
