I tested Pidgin
I have been testing a program called Pidgin which is a multi-protocol instant messaging client that allows you to use all of your IM accounts at once. Since I have had problems with both MSN Messenger and Trillian (and a couple of others that I can’t recall the name of right now), I really needed a lightweight program that could handle at least MSN and GTalk. Pidgin can actually take these accounts as well: AIM, ICQ, Jabber/XMPP, Yahoo!, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, QQ, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE, MySpaceIM, and Zephyr.
So far it has been great. My computer doesn’t freeze like it did with MSN Messenger, and I don’t miss MSN and all the fuzz with it at all. Pidgin has all the features I want, a plus is that it is not over-designed like Trillian.
This post almost sounds like someone paid me to do it, but I can assure you that it’s not the case :P. I would be truly happy if Pidgin could keep things up for me!

Pidgin is great. I have been using it since they were called Gaim.

Pidgin sounds an awful lot like Adium, which is what I use on my Mac. I really like the logo too, it’s cute!
