The largest bead picture in the world - Barack Obama
It just came to my knowledge that a Swedish company, PhotoPearls, has with the help of fourth grade students from every state in the USA and the Craft and Hobby Association, created the largest bead picture in the world!

The fourth graders used PhotoPearls® (a program where you can create a bead project from any digital photo) to create a photo mosaic of President Barack Obama made entirely of hollow plastic beads. It will be given as a gift to the president on his birthday.

The portrait was created with 372 600 pearls and measures 9 x 11 ½ foot! Amazing!

Compared to that project, my bead creations feels so small ;)

Hama Beads Gloomy Bear

Here are my latest creations. Not much, but it’s nice to occupy the brain with something when you are bored!
The bear is from Gloomy Bear, in case you didn’t notice.
And the hairy thing at the bottom left is a puppy paw! It is still attached to his body though!

Hama Beads - Super Mario, Pacman, Mushroom, Hello Kitty

That’s right! I made some more creations from patterns I found online. Like I said in my previous post about the beads “Hama beads – Super Mario inspired“, it is great to get lost in something so simple. I feel like a child again! :P

Super Mario got a little melt down (click the image to see it in a bigger version) since I held the iron on him for too long, but he looks pretty good anyway! Then he felt a little lonely so I made a mini mushroom for him. Then all of a sudden I made a Pacman creature and last but not least, even though I don’t really like Hello Kitty, I made a Hello Kitty face :P

I also noticed one thing. I have a huge bucket with different colors, why on earth didn’t they make more black and white beads? Most of the time I search around for black ones. Argh!

Hama beads – Super Mario inspired

Super Mario Hama BeadsEarlier this week I took the time to create my first hama beads creation in my adulthood. I remember those happy days as a kid when you could play with them without feeling childish, like I do now. But it took my mind off things for a while and it was nice.
I made a mushroom that can be seen in the Super Mario game. I’m not sure what to do next, I would like to do a Hello Kitty but what should I do with it? I don’t even like Hello Kitty! ;)

By the way, I’m in the process of remaking my subpages around here and so far I’m finished with the about page. Take the opportunity to see me in my new blue wig! :P
