Momiji Dolls!

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

English: Momiji dolls are so adorable! Momiji are japanese little message dolls, if you turn one upside down, there is a little secret message inside. You have to write it yourself though! Perfect to give away as a gift! They look very similar to kokeshi dolls! The designs are inspired by Japanese street-fashion, Japanese culture, manga etc.
Below are my favorites from LoveMomiji!

Kokeshi by Maria Parrish

I received a letter (snail mail) today from a dear friend, Jessica (thanks for the surprise! :D), containing four supercute MOO cards with Kokeshi doll illustrations on them, made by Maria Parrish. Oh I love them! So incredibly cute! :D Thank you! :D

geisha dolls - geisha dockor

I think they are supposed to look like geishas ;). Anyway, for a couple a months ago I saw these cute things (Kokeshi dolls) at Åhléns. Back then they cost 95 SEK (~$12.39) each – waaay overpriced. Today I found them for 25 SEK (~$3.26) each. Bargain! However, when I was going to remove the sticky pricetag on the pink one, as you can see, a bit color fell off from it. Damnit! Poor quality! Thank god they were so cheap! :P

You can find these type of geishas almost at every interior design shop these days, but according to me, most of them are overpriced.

But the ones I bought can’t compete with for example this cool geisha from Tokidoki.
