Radical Self Love

If you are a fan of Gala Darling you probably already know that she decided to declare February the month of Radical Self Love. And when I saw her video about making yourself a Radical Self Love Bible I thought “What a great idea!“. The second after I remembered that I’ve already started on my own Radical Self Love Bible back on January the 1st! With almost the same concept! Great minds think alike I guess!

Above you can see the I Love Secrets notebook that I bought in November 2009. Since January the 1st I have written down great quotes, made a list of goals I would like to achieve in 2010, I cut out and glued on inspiring pictures from magazines (I loved doing that when I was young!), started an ongoing list of things and that make me happy so I can look back on them when my mind is filled with darkness, etc. I also write about things I feel that I’m good at or things that I’ve done really good, which is important for me that’s battling with depression and anxiety, to remember the good stuff.

Another even more important thing that I’ve started doing is to write down all my negative thoughts and add a more realistic answer, explanation or note right below it. It’s something I’ve learned from my psychologist, and I can tell you that it’s extremely hard. In the beginning it was horrible, but with time it has become easier. So I will continue with that.

The How of Happiness

Lately I have read a some self-help-books. Some are stupid, some are… interesting to say the least (*cough* The Secret *cough*) , some are not meant to be read by the general reader and some can be quite good. Most of them are stating the obvious, but there is no key to success or happiness, only hard work.

In the picture above you can see the one book that I actually liked. It’s called The how of happiness: a scientific approach to getting the life you want and it’s written by Sonja Lyubomirsky, I borrowed it at the library. Her tone is edgy and fun and she gives concrete and specific suggestions and tips. She explains the science behind happiness in a very easy and fun way. If you are in to these kind of books or you just waited for the right one, here it is. From what I have seen, many people around the globe agrees with me! The book has great reviews! It’s actually so good that I’m thinking of buying it!

I’m going to go through the book one more time and write down important quotes and tips in my Radical Self Love Bible/I Love Secrets notebook. The quest for happiness continues!
