After my first attempt making a new theme I decided to start over. This one turned out cute (with an illustration from michelleness) as well but not as childish as the other one. However, I can really feel that I’ve been away from coding and designing for too long! WordPress has developed a lot since I made my last theme. I think it will take some time for me to catch up! But, I have really enjoyed experimenting with codes again. I love the process more than the final results. Perhaps that’s why I’m never really satisfied with anything…

Let me tell you a secret. The image above shows my latest design (it’s not complete though) *shivers* for Infektia. At first I thought it was so lovely and cute. I even used brown colors! But then I suddenly realized that woah, doesn’t it look a little bit childish? I think I’ve designed a WordPress theme for my inner 12-year old. I mean, I like cute stuff and cute layouts, but this seems a bit too much in the wrong direction. Disney-ish sort of.
I think I’ll have to start over ;). Perhaps go for a minimalistic and modern toutch. But I’ve had fun experimenting with it. I tend to do that a lot, sometimes I never even finish it, and start over, and over, and over. That and the lack of inspiration is the reason that I haven’t made a WordPress theme in ages.

Some of you may remember that I had two WordPress themes up for download ages ago. I decided to put up my very second premade theme, Cactuus Blue 2.0 that I made a couple of years ago. It is not that pretty in any way (but there are people using it) and it should really be re-coded but it works and it is simple. If you want to play with a theme you can use this one!
The 2.0 theme has been “SEO’d” by Courtney Tuttle, has three columns, is NOT widgetized and works with WordPress version 2.7. You can do whatever you want with it, as long as the credits stay intact!

I’m done with my Christmas shopping! Nothing overpriced has been bought and just one gift to each one. Except to my brother. He has never brought a Christmas present to me, or our parents. And I don’t count the times he wrapped something old in (from our own homes) and gave us that instead.
But I have to give him a break I guess, he doesn’t really have an income (he’s still in school), and the money he gets, he spend on pizzas and cars.
