The 4 books battle - Battle 2
I have decided that after I have read four books, I will post them and give them scores. So here are the second batch of four books.
Black Fly Season by Giles BluntTo be short it’s about an evil schaman and the cops, Cardinal and Delorme are trying to catch the guy. It is a pretty lame story and it was quite boring. The only thing I liked about this book was how Cardinal’s wife’s psychological problems were described because it was so close to what I have been experiencing, and it was hard to read how Cardinal felt because of his wife’s illness. It was what I thought it was, people that are close to people with psychological problems also have a hard time. Especially since it’s hard to see someone you love suffer.
Well that was it. There wasn’t anything special with this book except that.

Fortune by Erica Spindler Too much to tell so here goes:
Madeline Monarch, wife of the heir to the great Monarch jewelry fortune, is a certifiable psychic but it doesn’t take a psychic to realize that her stepson Griffen’s attachment to her young daughter, Grace, is far from brotherly. After discovering Griffen trying to rape the five-year-old, Madeline steals away with Grace, adopting a life on the road under the names Claire and Skye Dearborn. Seven years later, with the powerful Monarch family closing in, Claire and Skye are separated, leaving Skye with a young friend, Chance McCord, who, in turn, will leave Skye. By the time Chance and Skye are reunited, Skye is a talented jewelry designer, a grown woman made somewhat wary of love by constant desertions and Griffen Monarch’s prize possession. Readers who can suspend disbelief (there are, after all, psychics; the Monarch “gift,” an inherited genius for jewelry design; repressed memories; and one unsubtly evil character) will find Spindler’s (Red) latest, a high adventure of love’s triumph over twisted obsession…
I liked this book, and through the story I shouted “Yes!” and a while later “No!”. It’s definetly worth reading. It got romance and disgusting obsessions. You can’t put it away!

High Five by Janet EvanovichStephanie Plum (a slightly ditzy bounty hunter) is in trouble. Her uncle Fred is missing, her cars explodes, grandmother goes berserk with an electric gun, and two sexy men tries to get her to bed.
This book my friends, is so darn good that I could read it over and over again! I love the humor in this, I laughed out loud countless of times while reading it. I really have to read the other books about Stephanie Plum!
[rating:5]
The White Masai by Corinne Hofmann Yet another book that evolves around Africa. However this is a true story. Corinne goes there on vacation, she falls in love with a Masai warrior (Lketinga) and she leaves her home country to move to Africa and live with him.
This is a really interesting book on how it is to live in the outback of Africa. But what I don’t understand is how she possibly could choose that life. And another thing that I don’t understand is why she didn’t even consider wearing protection when she first had sex with this guy. She doesn’t mention anything in the book, but later, in another situation she mentions the concerns about the risc of getting HIV/AIDS, so I can’t see why she didn’t think of that from the beginning.
Anyway, it’s an amazing story about an amazing woman. It’s definetly worth reading. I believe there is also a movie based on the book and there is a second book out there that continues the story.
It’s worth mentioning that I actually got my mom to read this book (she doesn’t really like reading books) and now she reads the book several hours a day! That must mean it really is something!
[rating:4.5]
