The Blogathon is over!

Finally! Thank goodness! My subscription feeds has been filled with 24 nonsens posts from everyone I’m stalking. I don’t find anything interesting in that. I wouldn’t sit up 24 hours straight up and blog one scentence posts every hour to raise money. Btw, how much did you guys raise anyways?

If I were you, I would have contacted the organisation that you want to support and donate the money directly, without filling the blogosphere with nonsense (I’m not saying I’m a better nonsense writer though!) every hour and then go to bed and sleep a good nights sleep!

I’m sure it was a maximum of 48 posts, and I’m sure people did exceed it.

I know one girl basically changed the timestamp for each post, then went to bed.

I participated in the Blogathon with a friend of mine and I’d like to think the posts we made were most certainly not nonsense. We spent a few weeks outlining and making plans for it. We also did donate directly, but that wasn’t really the point.

Some people just aren’t interested in doing something to help others. Understandable.

@Mike: Yes, I have read your posts, no nonsense there. But a post with like just one line “Oh, my dog just pooped on the carpet. The end.”, is nonsense to me.
I think you guys did a great job. Too bad everyone else couldn’t do the same ;)

Unfortunately there were some people who didn’t take it very seriously at all. There were many who did though.

I use live bookmarks in Firefox for my RSS feeds so I’m never really bothered by anyone updating their site (or by how frequently they do so). It’s definitely a great way to pull feeds if you’re looking for something a little less distracting. I don’t even know sites in my feed list are updated until I feel like checking the bookmarks.

I didn’t really make any money at all. Personally, for me, it was a waste of time. But who knows. Maybe next year will be better…if I decide to do it.
