The Burma situation

Free BurmaI just can’t understand how people think sometimes. It was their right to protest! Why kill people? As far as I understand it was a peaceful protest by monks and nuns, and the government answers with a blood bath?!

Rumors also says that the government has started turning off the internet and other means of communication over there. And the British PM Gordon Brown says he fears the loss of life in Burma is “far greater” than the authorities have claimed. I think so too. There are always more victims than they report. And the world holds it’s breath while waiting for an massacre.

They may be shut down inside, but they’re still broadcasting from outside. You can hear the latest reports at Democratic Voice of Burma or Radio Free Asia, both located here Cheers. –UJ

    @ Jenny:

It’s not surprising, indeed. It has been usual for any militaristic regime.

It’s terrible watching the news from Burma. I am also sad that the daily focus on Burma before they started the demonstrations was so non existent.

All of the violence we’re witnessing around the world right now, including that in Burma, is tragic. It’s shocking and unnerving to think that in 2007 masacres involving governments go unchecked. When will this senseless violence end?
